FITeq: New Committee Member

The International Sport for All Federation is proud to announce the membership as Committee Member of the International Teqball Federation.

Committee Member refers to a specific type of membership defined in the FISpT Constitution. It designates an organization that serves as the governing body for a particular sport. A Committee Member is, therefore, an international organization that manages a specific sport or discipline within the Sport for All framework on behalf of FISpT.

The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ, French: Fédération Internationale de Teqball) is the governing body for the sport of teqball and para teqball. FITEQ is responsible for the organisation of teqball's major international tournaments, notably the Teqball World Championships.

FITEQ was founded in March 2017 following the sport's inception in 2014. Headquartered in Budapest, its membership now compromises 124 national federations.

FITeq is recognised by the Olympic Council of Asia, Oceania National Olympic Committees, Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, signatories of WADA and member of AIMS.

Teqball is a sport developed in Hungary that combines elements of soccer and table tennis. It is played on a special curved table by athletes or enthusiastic amateurs who want to improve their technical skills, concentration, and stamina, or simply enjoy the sporting experience.

The cooperation will foster sport for all events, grassroots activities and educational opportunities for both FISpT and FITeq.

Dr Viktor Huszár, Chairman of FITEQ, warmly welcomes the joining of the federtion to FISpT as a committee member, furtehr reinforcing the commitment of the Teqball Community towards the development and dissemination of amateur and grassroot sport, leisure sport, next to the growing number of professional Teqball athletes. The presitge of FISpT and the invitation of FITEQ to the FISpT Family would certainly strengthen the international elevnce of both organisations.

Laszlo Vajda, FITEQ Secretary General added that on the operational level, FITEQ is looking forward to this cooperation the committee membership brings, and Teqball is ready for significnt joint projects and meaningful contributions.
