The International Sport for All Federation is proud to announce that FISpT has been admitted as a member of the EU4Ocean Platform, an important European initiative that brings together organizations, institutions, networks, and stakeholders committed to promoting ocean literacy, environmental awareness, and stronger engagement with Europe’s seas and waters. This recognition represents a meaningful step forward for FISpT, strengthening its presence within a dynamic community that shares the belief that education, participation, responsibility, and cooperation are essential to building a more sustainable future. Through this membership, FISpT joins a broad and diverse platform that supports action, dialogue, and collaboration on ocean-related challenges, while connecting the values of sport, wellbeing, and community engagement with the wider mission of protecting marine ecosystems and encouraging a culture of sustainability.

EU4Ocean is a European platform created to unite actors who are active in ocean literacy and to encourage collective action in support of healthier seas and a more informed society. It serves as a collaborative space where public authorities, civil society organizations, education actors, youth groups, researchers, networks, and other stakeholders can work together to increase understanding of the ocean’s role in our lives and the importance of protecting it. The platform promotes knowledge sharing, innovation, outreach, and joint initiatives that help translate awareness into practical action. It is designed to connect people and organizations that believe that a stronger relationship between society and the ocean is necessary for addressing environmental challenges, improving sustainability, and encouraging responsible behavior across communities and generations.

For FISpT, membership in EU4Ocean offers valuable opportunities to expand its contribution beyond the traditional boundaries of sport for all and to engage with a European initiative that addresses one of the most urgent issues of our time. Being part of the platform allows the Federation to collaborate with organizations that are developing educational tools, awareness campaigns, and participatory activities aimed at increasing ocean literacy and environmental responsibility. It creates a new context in which sport can serve as a vehicle for education, engagement, and positive social impact, especially among young people and communities that can be reached through inclusive and accessible physical activity. The membership also opens the door to new partnerships, participation in events and initiatives, and the possibility of contributing to a growing European conversation on sustainability, citizenship, and active participation in environmental protection.

This admission reflects FISpT’s broader commitment to supporting initiatives that link physical activity with education, social responsibility, and community development. Sport for all is not only about participation in movement and recreation, but also about fostering values that can inspire action in many areas of life, including the protection of nature and the promotion of sustainable behavior. By joining EU4Ocean, FISpT reinforces its willingness to be part of a forward-looking European community that recognizes the importance of connecting people, institutions, and ideas in order to generate meaningful change. This step confirms the Federation’s dedication to expanding its international engagement and to contributing actively to platforms that promote knowledge, cooperation, and long-term positive impact for society and the environment.
