The International Table Tennis Federation Foundation (ITTF Foundation) is thrilled to announce that event registration is now open for World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) 2026, celebrated globally on 23 April.
This year’s theme shines a powerful spotlight on Health & Well-Being, aiming to highlight how table tennis can support physical, mental, and social wellness for people of all ages and backgrounds.
What Is World Table Tennis Day?
World Table Tennis Day (WTTD), initiated by the ITTF Foundation, is a worldwide celebration that promotes the joy and uniting power of table tennis and encourages people from all backgrounds to come together around ONE table. No matter where you are and regardless of your experience and skill level, ITTF Foundation warmly invite everyone to plan, register, and host your WTTD event and be part of the global annual celebration on 23 April.

Why World Table Tennis Day Matters
Since its launch in 2015, World Table Tennis Day has grown into a global celebration of table tennis, focusing less on competition but more on participation, unity, and joy.
Every two years, WTTD is celebrated under a dedicated theme. After highlighting Diversity & Inclusion in 2024 and 2025, the focus for 2026 and 2027 turns to Health & Well-Being. This new theme underscores the role of table tennis in supporting healthier individuals and stronger, more connected communities, showcasing how the sport encourages active lifestyles, supports mental and emotional well-being, and strengthens social bonds and community resilience.
How the World Celebrates WTTD
In 2025, under the theme of Diversity & Inclusion, 845 events were organised across 146 countries and territories, demonstrating the sport’s remarkable power to unite people worldwide. This year, we continue to break barriers, foster connections, and create a healthier environment for everyone through table tennis.

A key driving force behind the WTTD celebrations is the Promoter initiative. Each year, the ITTF Foundation selects around 30 dedicated WTTD Promoters who lead local events focused on social impact. Since 2021, over 150 Promoters from more than 55 countries and territories have positively impacted their communities through table tennis events, creating meaningful opportunities for connection and movement.
To further support organisers, the ITTF Foundation has launched a Table Tennis for Health & Well-Being Handbook, offering practical guidance on using table tennis as a tool for healthier activities and inclusive community events.
Meanwhile, the official WTTD 2026 T-shirt design is available online. Download the design (click here), print the t-shirt locally, and wear it at your event to show that your community is part of the global World Table Tennis Day movement.
Year after year, more ITTF Member Associations, clubs, sport organisations, NGOs, and table tennis enthusiasts are joining this growing global movement.
