FISpT at the SportAccord Convention

The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) had the opportunity to attend the SportAccord Convention.



The SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit brings together around 1,500 leaders and key decision makers from over 120 International Federations (IFs), the International Olympic Committee, and organisations involved in the business of sport.


The Summit provides an unrivalled platform enabling global business leaders and host cities to have access to all the International Federations and their stakeholders in one location over several days.


This unique event is a combination of official sports meetings, networking gatherings, a themed conference programme, and exhibition space enabling International Federations, industry, cities and regions to showcase and advance their sport, services and facilities.


FISpT delegates were three:

  • Mr Isa AbdulRahim, President of FISpT

  • Mr Giovanni Gallo, IOC, NOCs, IFs Liaison Officer

  • Mr Mohamed Abbas, Advisor of the President


During the various meeting, the FISpT delegation had the opportunity to have different interesting meeting.


First of all, the important meeting with the IOC president Thomas Bach.



Another important meeting was held with Mr. Nasser Ayman Majali, General Secretary of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation for the possibility of a future collaboration.


The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF; Arabic: الاتحاد الرياضي للتضامن الاسلامي) is the supreme authority governing the Islamic Solidarity Games. It is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Its mission is to increase the cooperation between the Islamic countries through sports. Currently, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is ISSF President since 8 April 2019.



At their 3rd Islamic Summit Conference held in Mecca and AI Taif (1981), the leaders of Islamic world adopted a decision to establish the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation ( I.S.S.F ) in order to serve the needs of the OIC member countries in all aspects of sports activities. In 1985 and at the initiative of HRH the late Prince Faisal Fahd Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Arabia’s General Presidency of Youth Welfare, the OIC invited the NOCs and Youth and Sports governmental organizations in Muslim countries to attend the constituent assembly for the foundation of the I.S.S.F in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Representatives of 34 Muslim countries attended this assembly and ratified the I.S.S.F statute.


The aims of the ISSF are:

  • To supervise the organization of a multi-sport event be held once every four years for member countries. This event shall be called the Islamic Solidarity Games.

  • To supervise the organization of tournaments and championships in all sports

  • To encourage the exchange of bilateral visits between sports teams of Member countries.

  • To enter into cooperation agreements with sports organizations at international, continental and regional levels

  • To train and develop sports cadres in Member states through the exchange of technical expertise and the organization of training courses in various fields of sports.

  • To hold conferences, symposia, exhibitions and museums, to supervise studies and researches and to disseminate publications serving the I.S.S.F goals


The President had the opportunity to meet also several meetings with IOC federations and AIMS Members.


This will be one of the most important keystone of FISpT future, being sure that a lot of collaborations and opportunities are going to come.
